This page explains, in plain English, what personal information I collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.

Who I am

This website is run by Julie, a sole trader trading as Managed by Julie, based in the UK. I’m the data controller for the information you send me, and I’m registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You can reach me at julie@managedbyjulie.com.

What I collect

Only what you choose to give me:

  • If you use the contact form: your name, your email address and your message.
  • If you email me: your email address, your name if you give it, and what you write.
  • If you book a call: whatever you enter on the booking page, which is handled by Cal.com (see below).

I don’t ask for anything I don’t need, and I don’t collect payment details through this website.

How I use it

I use your details to reply to you, to arrange and hold a call and, if we work together, to provide the service. I don’t use them for advertising, and I don’t sell or share them for marketing.

Lawful basis

I use your information because you asked me to get in touch (that’s your consent and my legitimate interest in answering you) and, if we work together, because I need it to carry out our agreement.

Who else sees it

I use a few services to run the site and my business. They only handle your information so that I can run them:

  • Netlify hosts this website and receives the contact form details so they can be passed on to me.
  • Cal.com handles bookings. If you click a booking button you go to their site, which has its own privacy policy.
  • Google Workspace provides my email, so messages you send me are stored there.
  • Google Fonts loads the typefaces on this site, so your browser connects to Google when a page loads.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries for as long as I need them to reply and follow up, then delete them. If we work together, I keep records for as long as the law and my accounting rules require.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to limit how I use it, or to object to my using it. Email me and I’ll sort it out.

This site only stores one small item to remember that you accepted the cookie notice. See the cookie policy for more.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
