I’m Julie. I support small business owners with the admin, the books and the big-picture thinking, so they can spend their time on the work they love.
Why I do what I do.
I didn’t start out in admin. I’ve worked in a hospital, in childcare and in car sales, and I’ve spent time travelling and working abroad. Every one of those jobs taught me something about dealing with people, and about how much gets lost when nobody has time to keep things organised.
When I was travelling I needed work I could do from anywhere, so I went virtual. That’s where I found out I love tech and systems: getting the tools set up properly so that everything just runs. That was 11 years ago, and I haven’t looked back.
I set up Managed by Julie because small businesses deserve proper, reliable support too, not just the big companies with whole teams behind them. Over and over I see talented people running brilliant businesses while quietly drowning in the things around the edges: the overflowing inbox, the receipts that need sorting, the nagging worry that the numbers aren’t quite right.
You shouldn’t have to be an expert at everything just to run the business you love.
What I enjoy most is working with people who are appreciative of the help, and with people who know exactly what they want but not how to get there. That’s where I’m most useful.
I offer a mix of practical help: virtual assistant support, UK bookkeeping and one-to-one business mentoring. You can use one, or combine them. And because it’s just me, you’ll always know who you’re talking to and that your business is being looked after properly.
Qualifications and training. I’ve completed AAT Level 2 and I’m now studying towards Level 3. I’m also working towards my Xero and QuickBooks qualifications, because I’d rather keep learning than guess.
